My mom got them for my sis and I for Christmas. It’s a 4 pack. You are supposed to do once or twice a week but I do one maybe every three to four weeks because I forget/want to stretch it out. My sister swears by them. I will say that my skin was a bit glowy after and felt tighter. I think those effects only remain

Has anyone ever used a Hanacure mask? That’s what I always think my face looks like when I have it on. It’s craazzzzzzyyyy.

Yes. I did not grow up with them... So this was a whole new world for me. I genuinely am disappointed I can’t take advantage of this. Slow stove or oven cooking for me only.

I always follow the recipes. And I don’t do overnight cooking...

Warming hasn’t been an issue. It’s the cooking that does it. I think it may have to do with the way things are heating and breaking down... I swear it’s a real thing. I just must be extra sensitive to it. Even if I brown the meat and then transfer, the same thing happens.

It’s kind of metallic, chemically, and no matter what meat or seasoning you put on it, the food all has that same taste. It’s extra confusing because of the ceramic pot... There’s no plastic or metal touching the food. And it’s happened with multiple crockpots and I’ve never tasted it with my cooking in normal pots

I still think they make food taste bad...

All I know is, do not disparage Crockpot on Jezebel... I learned my damn lesson with you all yesterday.

Oof, I shudder to think what it would do to broccoli...

JESUS. FUCKING. CHRIST. The incredibly amount of blind-eyeing, enabling, excuse-making that had to go on throughout his company, his circle, his home, is un-fucking-believable. There are soooo many other people responsible for this and they need to be held accountable. I’m looking at you Bob and Weinstein Co. Board...

Musty and sour may have been over the top, but there is just a very specific “crockpot taste” that I can’t stand.

It’s been washed. It’s the ceramic kind that pulls out of the heating device. I think it’s something with the ceramic or the way the food is broken down, because it’s happened in multiple crockpots.

It’s possible... But why cook in something that makes delicious onions and garlic taste so bad?! I’ve made boef bourginoin the traditional way (In the oven) with onions and they taste ahhhhmazzzzzing. It’s like when you are on a cruise ship or something and all the catering comes from one kitchen and all the chicken

It’s been multiple crockpots. :-\ I think there is something about how these things heat and break food down that turns it into a taste that unpalatable for me.

The weird thing, it’s all metal (heating element) and ceramic.... There is no reason for it to have a weird plastic taste!

Haha. Multiple Crockpots!! I bought a new one in an attempt to get rid of the “taste” Didn’t work. Crockpots are garbage.

Honestly from what I’ve read online and this thread it sounds like there is a group of people who can tolerate/not taste the “crockpot taste” and those who find it awful. I’m definitly not a super taster. I like all kinds of food and I swear I’m a great cook. I just can’t get down with that crockpot taste.

Multiple Crockpots. I thought getting a new one would resolve it.

YES!

It can only be used for heating food at a party or something, but there is just a taste that all food that comes out of it taste like, and I DO NOT LIKE. I prefer traditional cooking methods. Although I wish I could use it for convenience.
