I always thought they were really close to a great design with the SNES and the Wii aesthetics.

If you did a hybrid Wii U Pro Controller/SNES controller, but switched the grey out for the Wii’s glossy white, and the the purple for the Wii’s blue, it would look GREAT.

The US SNES casing turning yellow is a pretty universal problem.
You can tell at a glance where one type of plastic stops and the other begins. :(

Like a Joy-Con....but bigger?

The purple looked better. Less silly. While the system Super Famicom/European SNES design looked like generic late 80's/early 90's hardware. The same aesthetic design cues as an early 90's CD player.

You can already get Joy Con covers and faceplates....

But the coolest thing about the JoyCons is that you’ll potentially be able to swap them out entirely for totally different types of controls.
Need a better D-Pad? Get a Joy Con with a better D-Pad.
Want a Steam Controller-style track pad for some reason? Get a Joy Con…

The American SNES was the best design.
Looked both sturdy and clean, with none of the stupid rainbow buttons.
