I wasn’t there to see it obviously but I’ve read defenses of Williams in the field which were basically he didn’t do anything spectacularly but he’d put himself into positions to make plays seem routine and that he played the Monster well. I acknowledge his dWAR puts him slightly below replacement level, however.
