I don’t think that nostalgic camp and big budget visuals are mutually exclusive. One prime example is Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Exceptionally campy but with a good story and great visuals.

Well, they are a bunch of people who are mentally and emotionally stuck at 8 years old. That much is evident from their replies as much as the behavior that got them banned.
