I definitely enjoy the ease-of-use and flexibility of cordless tools but I've often had issues with batteries/chargers, even with major brands. I still buy cordless tools sometimes but it's handy to have a corded version on hand as a backup. Waiting around for a battery to charge, or being out and having to take spare

In my experience meeting (and knowing some) cosplayers the goal is not primarily to recreate camera-ready special effects. It's people having fun portraying their favorite characters as best they can. Sure some have exceptional skills that are nearly (or actually) professional quality but many just strive do their

I'm with you on everything except voice control. I tend to find it annoying and less than adequate regardless of platform. Some are almost ok but none has seemed good enough that I just resort to using it without thinking about it. I'll have to give it another go, because you're usually spot on and I don't wanna be tha

Wow... that's from an old comment!

Also, in reference to my previous reply, California.

That makes sense. In fairness, I've never traveled internationally. From what I'm led to understand it is virtually guaranteed to ruin any plan without fail.

Having traveled frequently for several years doing photo shoots (often with many boxes of equipment) I do understand. Those sort of things are exactly why I changed the way I travel. It sucked being stuck somewhere with half my equipment and clothes stuck or lost in baggage claim and trying to plan for a change in

Wow... all I can say to that is that you have my sympathies that your travel is always so difficult.

That's cool, man, that's cool.

Depend son the length of your trip and amount of things you need to bring. It also alleviates the time spent needing to check luggage. For some airlines the cost of extra baggage is more than the cost to ship ahead.

Of course you can. But I find, for me, that it greatly speeds things up for me to just ship things separately, especially on long trips. Given baggage restrictions with most airlines the cost trade-off is minimal and I can do more while waiting at the airport less.

I often travel with my wife and/or 3yo son or for business trips (with my camera and laptop). Some trips are short and some a week or more. Planning ahead and arriving early solves a multitude of problems.

Never been a fan of melisma. Sounds like a chipmunk being shaken while it attempts to sing and hunt for the correct note. Not saying she isn't good at what she does but I think it sounds like garbage. A lot of people like it though so why not cash in on it?

I always go to the airport a full 60 minutes ahead of my boarding time. I pass through the security gate totally relaxed and then I read a book or magazine. I get on the flight and sleep through the entire thing.

That's true, but there are still some basic foundation skills and knowledge that can help for almost all types of PS work. For example, understanding the basics of layers, groups and layer comps. This is of tremendous benefit for anyone and makes revisiting your work or sharing it with a team much, much easier. I've

Yeah, I had that same feeling for a long time. It was difficult for me to consider myself a professional in certain fields. When you're self-employed it doesn't make too much difference as long as the results (and the turnaround time) are of sufficient quality to meet the client's needs.

Excellent point! As someone who is self-taught in nearly all the things I do it took me a while to "unlearn what I'd learned" when it came time to advance to a "professional" level in certain areas.

I recommend the same approach when people ask me to help them learn to draw, use Photoshop or do photography. It's nice to have a big goal but it's important to have a solid foundation of the basics.

For me working from home is a nightmare. Every facet of my job becomes inordinately more difficult and takes far, far longer than it actually needs to.

You missed the point entirely. The number of expectations I have about video games is exactly ZERO.
