More than likely, the designer pulled the icon from a stock image sight and didn’t even pay attention to the numbers. The web dev guy might have also been the person that pulled or created the icon to upload. There’s also the chance that someone knew what was going on and just decided to let it go because it was funny.

In this day and age, frankly I’m amazed people still recognize the oil can symbol and manual shift pattern for what they are.

Wipers blades.

Not gonna lie, I was tempted to buy one, particularly the Chinese voting machine one which had me in tears, but unfortunately here in Texas too many people would take it 100% at face value

This post needs more stars! Thanks for fighting the good fight!

Unfortunately, automobiles tend to intersect quite a bit with transportation policy, climate policy, public safety, etc. We can’t have a conversation about cars without getting into the weeds of ideas like airbags, seatbelts, pedestrian safety, the 55 MPH speed limit, etc.

There were a few articles like this one in 2016 about how easy is for people to start up websites spewing 100% BS and they will get readers who will believe every bit of it.

N: Just got tested for Covid, came up negative, whew. Why? Because just as I get in the car with my stupid friend he tells me he went to Las Vegas for New Years and one of his friends started to get sick in Vegas. People, WTF, stop the stupidity.

Maybe not a golden tower but a golden shitter maybe. Considering the top 10% owns over 80%(was 84% pre-pandemic) of shares the benefits are fairly diluted for most of us as we are just carving up an ever shrinking slice. Yay stocks going up but the gains for most of our 401K’s just don’t amount to much actual money,

I think we do have to consider priorities, though. I want my 401K to be reliable, steady growth until I can start withdrawing at retirement... where much of Wall Street feels like a gambling version of musical chairs. Buy cheap, pump the short term numbers, sell out before the chickens come to roost. There are two

3rd. Gear: Rivian certainly looks more like an EV truck regular people will actually buy vs. that monstrosity from Tesla. When are they going public? Asking for a friend.

Concur with the mild shock. It’s so hard to do a “joint venture” vehicle that doesn’t look like the donor vehicle, because the vehicle’s attitude, hardpoints and proportions are always so similar.   Thinking Mercedes-Infiniti for starters.

I continue to be amazed that FCA never figured out to luxe up the Renegade with some softer body work and leather to sell as a Chrysler. If Buick can keep selling Encores the way they do, a Chrysler sub-compact should be just as popular.

Raise your hand if you are of a certain age and you’ve gotten a call from your parents/grandparents/C-Suite boss asking you to do something simple like, turn a Word doc into a PDF, or reset their WiFi password, or update their iPhone, all things easily Googled. 1..2..3...okay that’s everyone in the crowd, then.

1st Gear: If Tesla is the alternative case then a robust dealer network is preferable to me. Buying a Tesla was no easier than getting a car through a traditional dealer and getting a Tesla serviced is a lot more difficult. It can take over a month to get an appointment. Plus no one answers the phone at Tesla service.

1st gear: I bought a Kia Stinger recently (used). Never thought I’d see the day I’d buy a Kia as a vehicle I’d actually enjoy driving every day, not just as something to serve as basic transportation. Other automakers should really be afraid of them, considering how far they’ve come in just the last decade alone.

Not like Chevy and Pontiac, which were two brands under one company, GM.

I had a 97 2.0/5spd Stratus. Cloud cars get a lot of grief, but they handled really well. IIRC they basically ripped off Honda’s “double wishbone” suspension design. Fantastic rode trip car, and I took a few in my 20's at that time. HUGE trunk, an back seat could legitimately seat 3 adults. Got 40+ MPG a tank on trips

I would never order pizza from LA, not even “for fun.”

It’s not delivery...it’s De Havilland.
