Yeah, that’s probably why such a site doesn’t exist yet. Unfortunately for buyers though, there isn’t always an enthusiast site available and even extensive Google searches often don’t provide answers.

I think the only hope of a truly useful site like that would be something like Consumer Reports, since it’s very

So... how do we create it?

There are sites out there that seem to WANT to provide that kind of info, but don’t live up to their potential, like Repair Pal. For instance, I looked up a 2015 Chevy Sonic and it says there are zero known problems on them. But I know from experience in the parts biz that the thermostat/water outlet assemblies are

You know what would be a really handy used car site? Something that provides data about real-world service intervals, expected maintenance and repair costs, and common failure items & problems.

It’s not just a mystery hand in that second clip when the Hoff is getting out, but as he exits the vehicle you can see the ankles of someone sitting in the back seat behind him!

Sad that more of them don’t turn into indoor electric karting tracks. “I had a run on him through housewares but I lost traction coming out of shoes and by the lingerie section he was just too far ahead of me...”

Either factories, or just to keep development going. They’re working on a lot of other product right now and that takes a lot of capital up front without earning any revenue in return for a while. The Semi, the Cybertruck, probably the Roadster, and they’re going to need a replacement for Models S/X sooner rather than

It’s so, so, so sad and maddening. We grounded an entire fleet of aircraft for over a year and a half, without a second thought about what the cost would be, because a total of 346 people died in two separate accidents in two different parts of the world (not even in the US!). And yet at least 4 or 5 times as many

Well-written reply and I share a lot of your frustrations and thoughts. Instead of our “leaders” honestly telling us that things will be tough, but that we can all make a difference through simple actions, they’ve outright told us those simple actions are stupid and made fun of people for doing them. Masks work.

I’d agree that in that instance, it’s executed properly. Plus the suede inserts probably don’t cause third degree leg burns in the summer the way regular leather would. And I’m sure it smells amazing!

Leather CAN be a premium option depending on how it’s implemented. Bentley/Rolls? Absolutely. Lexus? Usually great. I personally don’t care about how much it burns my legs in the summer as long as I can take in the smell of a really nice quality leather - it’s one of the best smells in the world I think.

Kind of a big conundrum. On one hand you could get a vehicle that seems like it will be really, really fun while also being environmentally friendly and fairly economical, but on the other hand you’d never get to go anywhere with it so why spend the money? And maybe that’s not how you’re feeling about it but that’s

I’ll be in the market next fall and I’m considering it. I hardly drive at all for work, and if we road trip we like to stop and eat every few hours anyway so recharging time wouldn’t be a dealbreaker (or we could always take my wife’s ICE car). Between now and then there are a lot of options coming to market like the

Hahahaha I’m imagining the ransom email “I know you have a misfire on cylinder #3, if you don’t send me a buttload of Bitcoin by Friday I’m going to.... um... tell everyone what a lousy car owner you are? Maybe buy up all of the ignition coils in your area so you can’t get it fixed? I don’t know, just do it...”

Sorry to hear you had problems with your Giulia, that really sucks. My Stelvio has been flawless so far and so much fun!

Or just maintain the physical OBDII port that every car has had for the past 25 years so that data can be accessed that way by a technician without opening up any potential security issues with the wireless protocol... which also serves as a backup way to repair the vehicle if something happens to the wireless

Every corporation in every industry has cried about every new regulation since the 50's. The oil industry says they can’t make a profit unless they’re allowed to dump sludge into our rivers. Meat packing plants say they can’t make a profit if they have to waste time cleaning and preventing worker injuries. Trucking

I don’t see why they can’t just maintain a physical OBDII port that independent shops can plug into until such time as everyone can agree on a single wireless standard of some sort that would allow techs access to the diagnostic data.

Yeah, that’s possibly a factor. Or if that wall had just been designed to be perfectly parallel with the track, his angle of entry wouldn’t have been as severe and the impact would have been no big deal.

The nastiest “modern” wreck that comes to mind for me was Kubica in Canada where he hit the wall at high speed and barrel-rolled and skidded down the track with not much left around him to protect his body or head. He was very lucky that day. Maybe Alonso’s crash in Australia in the McLaren back in... ‘15? where he
