Helmuth Koenigg and also Francois Cevert in similar fashion if I’m not mistaken. It was Cevert’s death that led Jackie Stewart to retire immediately as they were very close.

Wow. $.43/kwh? I guess that’s an aspect of EV ownership that I didn’t really consider. Charging at home is cheaper than gas, charging at home with solar is even cheaper, but retail rates at a charger can be 2-3x what someone would pay at home... still probably cheaper than gas overall, but it definitely cuts into the

The best suggestion for fast and fun is an Alfa Romeo Giulia.

I keep hoping they come out with a version that opens up access to multiple cities. In Los Santos but need to do some business in Vice City? Done - hop on a plane and you’re there. Need to go to Liberty City after that to do some business there? Boom, on a plane and you’re there. And then from there once the intercity

“Behold, for this is where the Name Your Price tool gathers all of its powers from outer space...”

Those reversible captain’s chairs would make it interesting as a ride share vehicle - almost like a throwback to the days of the Checker Marathon cabs with the little jumpseats, except these are probably far more comfortable. Might make access to the back row easier as well.

I think in many cases the actual cable infrastructure may be generic like you say, but it may be set up in such a way that the company that bids for the “monopoly rights” for the given term get 100% usage of that infrastructure instead of having to share it with a competitor.

Nah, that’ll never fly here. Greed is like electricity; it takes the path of least resistance.

I felt bad for Hermine, winning Star Baker two weeks in a row and then going down in flames. She’s very talented and I’m sure she’ll be able to launch a career from her appearance on the show, if not at least sell a book or two.

When I hear “patisserie” I think French... and that Horn of Plenty is definitely not

This is awesome information because my wife and I love miniature golf and it would be fun to have a mini golf setup in our front yard for a birthday party when our son gets older! Thanks for posting that!

That’s probably still basically the same system I had in my ‘89, although updated for the stalk-mounted manual high beam controls. I had the rheostat to adjust sensitivity, too (which didn’t seem to matter much).

Yeah that worked for my wife a few years ago when she was looking at leasing an Altima. The dealership chain is famous for its traditional shady tactics and the hard sell, but it was the only Nissan dealer nearby so we thought we’d give them a try.

Interesting to me how different our responses are to these deaths.

My 1989 Town Car had automatic high beams, so they’re definitely a thing and they’ve been around for a while. I found them annoying though, so I found a way to disable them (unplugging the sensor that detected oncoming vehicles) but I don’t know if that’s possible on the newer ones.

I hardly ever use my high beams so

Thanks! Not 100% sure if I’m going to pull the trigger on it yet when the time comes, but it has a lot of potential on paper to be a long-term family hauler for us. I figure since the deposit is 100% refundable, it didn’t hurt to dip my toe in the water.

My current lease is up next October so it’s a little early for

First Gear: Neat. They should give people an automatic discount for all of the days their new GM vehicle is in for warranty and recall work. *ZING*

Third Gear: The more I see, the more I’m convinced that Rivian is set up well for big long-term success (assuming they don’t just get purchased outright by one of the

I wanted to get into that game so badly, but it was always so frustrating when I’d be in the middle of a mission or trying to grind out some cash and then I’d get killed over and over and over again by some jackass in the same lobby. And the same thing would happen in every lobby... so eventually I gave up.

Maybe I’ll

The original Speedee mascot also had a hamburger for a head, but it was vertically-oriented instead of horizontal like on Mayor McCheese. I wonder if they’re two divergent species from the same original family of Hamburger People, or if they developed as two separate species all along that just ended up remarkably

Haven’t heard of that specifically but it wouldn’t surprise me. They’re VERY protective of their image and branding.

Did anyone else notice that it seemed like Dave dyed his hair this week? It seemed much darker than I remember it, and my wife thought the same thing.
