I wonder what the hypothetical “best possible” return would have been if someone had invested that money in, say, Microsoft at the time, then maybe pulled it out and put it into Apple or Amazon at the “right time”.

One of my all-time favorite cars.  Sadly I think I’ll miss the opportunity to get one... prices are starting to creep up now so they’re sure to be out of reach by the time I get a house with a garage.  Luckily I have plenty of diecast ones to stare at longingly...

I think a lot of the people in that scenario THINK they’re making the better financial decision.

If the school years were extended to have only two or three weeks off in the summer instead of over two months, there would be plenty of time to add in some very useful lessons on scientific reasoning, personal finance, emotional intelligence, etc...

even a relatively small increase in the percentage of our diet that comes from these foods increases our risk of early “all-cause mortality.”

My schedule is open after next Tuesday. Let me know what works for you.

Your ability to come up with a pun for almost anything is astounding and impressive.

I think the marketing people have done a good job of convincing people of that, however it’s been proven over and over that winter tires make a much bigger difference than drivetrain configuration on snow and ice.

And people buy it to put it in their mouth!

And let’s hope their garage is up a flight of stairs so they can put its abilities to good use every day.

Love is what makes a Subaru a Subaru.”

I think they benefit a lot from people that don’t do a lot of cross-shopping.

It’s essentially a BMW with a Toyota badge on it.

I haven’t played any of the Sims games in quite a while. I played the original on PC quite a bit though, and remember using various methods of doing off characters I was tired of.  Lighting off a model rocket in the living room was always fun.

Yeah, if this was a couple of years ago that doesn’t sound surprising. Early ones had some software issues, a water intrusion recall and some other “quirks”.
