“To me, the LX is a heinous ostentatious showy display of wealth.”
That’s Toyota, buddy.
End of 2018!
So, when are you replacing your range-rover with one of these? I know you won’t have (as many) amusing Warranty Stories because of one...so you’ll have to write about something else, But overall you’d be doing yourself a favor.
That’s fair, but a lot of us as enthusiasts prefer to spend that money on cars instead of travel. Not to say what you’re doing voids you of being an enthusiast of course, but this is the way many of us are. I myself have thoughts often among the line of: “hmm, I could spend 1-2k on a vacation that I’d enjoy for 1-2…
Crap, that makes me angry.
You’re never safe in a city! Garage or no garage. I had my pristine E30 while living in Philly, where I was lucky enough to have a parking spot and garage at our house but still constantly parked on the street in the city. I was very careful where I parked, but I couldn’t escape an idiot supervisor and his crew from…
I live in New Hampshire which is sorta like the Texas of the Northeast and I concur, I have no idea how people survive without a garage.
Same. My garage is almost larger than my house.
Texan here...
That’s the perfect opportunity to have a beat up but reliable Corolla.
If I had to have a car and had to park on the street in a major city, I wouldn’t buy a nice car. That’s the perfect opportunity to have a beat up but reliable Corolla. I’d then use my savings on a membership with these guys, or whatever is similar where I live.
LOL@ Last one.
“My chipped Camaro will do 200.”
Yeah, I have little faith in the average human for being decent. I’d rather be pleasantly surprised when they are and expect the worst... than constantly disappointed.
Some assholes just can’t stand that someone else has something nice. It’s the “I can’t have something nice, so you can’t either” attitude.
really though you have to go in with the mentality, if they are malicious they will damage you regardless, you cant avoid those.
My grandmother used to park her Chrysler LeBaron (then Buick Century/LeSabre etc) in the most remote corner of a parking lot about a block and a half from her office and walk for 5+ minutes across 2 busy streets just to avoid someone “dinging” her car.
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter.
