That is exactly what Resistance: Burning Skies and Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified does. Resistance has a pretty good campaign, but buggy multiplayer. Black Ops Declassified has a throwaway campaign, but excellent multiplayer (provided you can get into a room).

Sly 3 was more of a step backwards. 3 had less things to do, more excessive grinding, less environments, more characters that have gimmick missions, and sailing as a gameplay mechanic is not only introduced too little, too late, but far too late in the game to have been expanded more.

Watch how everyone will whine about this being set in WW2, while they all play their modern war games. Of course, this screams budget title. Would like to see the next Call of Duty or so take place in World War 2, or to break new grounds, the Korean War, seeing how the latter was never once represented in a game.
