Sadly, yes. I am a gun owner and support gun rights but you'd be surprised how many of them are "my m16 is all that is keeping the govt with their predator drones, black hawks & tanks honest." It's a prime reason I don't join the NRA. That and voting democrat to them is damn near tantamount to f'king your own mother.

And beyond that, do Americans actually believe that the NRA is representing the interests of them (them being the average gun owner)? Ostensible justifications aside, isn't it just a lobby for the gun industry at this point?

I remember getting done at practice, walking back from the facilities, and having the dining hall lady rush to close the door and tell us they were closed. That happened pretty much every day. I'm brown, from a law enforcement family (I have so many cops in my family I'm practically a cop.) and I trust them about as far as I could throw some overweight special operations guy in full cool-guy SWAT gear.

And yet there are still people out there who can't understand why someone would not see a police officer as a source of help and protection.

This is easily one of the most horrific stories i have ever read... the dude just needed a tow... I bet he was running toward the cops saying, "Thank God... finally some help."

Is this story the definition of irony, or what? He banged on her door because he desperately needed her to call the police. She did exactly that. It ended up being the worst thing that could've possibly happened to him.

One of those stories that makes me ashamed (and still glad) I'm white and am not at risk at getting shot to death by the police. This kind of shit needs to end, country. Needs to end.

Summit, IMO, provides the best price/quality combo of all MN breweries. Their Saga IPA is my current favorite, but they're solid across the board.

Me too, we really have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to good beer choices in MSP.

I approve of Grain Belt winning this competition and the superiority of Nordeast. The reference to hotdish being served passively-aggressive was an excellent touch.

Nordeast and Premium are awesome cheap beers. Surly makes fine beer, but it's waaaaay overpriced and the Surly fanboys annoy the shit out of me. I'd rather give my money to Mark Stutrud at Summit.

Oh yeah, Surly is very expensive. I'll give you that for sure. I visited the tap room when I was in town last week and had a 10 oz pour of Smoke, and man it was good.

Surly is waaay more expensive than Nordeast, but I'm not arguing with you.
