If I remember correctly those are typically referred to as “Sail Panels” aka too cheap to make the body work fit correctly, or the accountants said skip the expensive glass.

Now take a look at the 2025 Escalade:

Oh my god I posted about rear windows in coupes that don’t go down but holy mother of shit those pictures just ruined my day. they make me so mad.

I fucking hate bumper-obviously-through-grille syndrome. See, if you make something black, it becomes invisible. Then, you can pretend it’s also invisible to air! You can just style your way right over whatever inconvenient mechanical realities you like!

It’s even worse in some other applications. My ‘12 Nismo 370Z has three blanks right dead center in the console staring me in the face. This was the top-of-the-line model. 42 fucking grand and I get switch blanks. Reprehensible.

Creases instead of curves. The “art of origami” seems to have totally infiltrated automotive design, and I hate it. So many cars are Bangle’s methed out fever dreams.

I hate everything that reduces visibility. Thick pillars, high belt lines, all that stuff. I understand that a lot of it is for crash safety, but I’m a big fan of preventing crashes in the first place, and visibility is a key part of that. Blind spot sensors are not a good enough substitute for sightlines.

Switch blanks in the interior.

Plastic fake glass to make pillars look smaller and windows look bigger, but still...

Lexus’ Predator face

So they took him off, bloodied and just left him to wander back on the plane? I guess they enjoy the physical abuse part of the job so much they forget about doing the boring follow through and guarding the jetway. They just walk over to the bar and have a beer and celebrate?

More importantly, they sell RAM trucks in Sweden?

Hillary cleaned his clock again, but here’s what is so dumbfounding about Trump’s claim that the election is rigged at the polls:

ice is no match for the rocky islands that block its path into the Fjords.

Please tell me that's not the only thing keeping this cabin in place.

That's called "thursday" here in Anchorage.

Makes sense. The prosecution's case had a shaky foundation.

I keep hoping one of these days the hackers will steal all my loans... but it never seems to happen.

Remember kids, some people feel the need to bring up Apple in every article they possibly can. They can't control themselves.
