It’s not uncommon for Navy ships to flex their dicks and assert their authority over maritime law. It happens all the time in the Puget Sound - and they are under escort when doing so. They have to be constantly reminded they must still yield to other vessels per maritme law.

That said, the circumstane surrounding

Memorial Stadium was fucking worn out when I went a few years ago. It was beyond deplorable. The bleachers were rickity, splintering wood planking, the PA system was horrendous in sound quality and would cut out at times, lighting was terrible, the public concourse felt like hearding paths for livestock, and the

Uhhh, no. Those are Yankee fans. They aren’t “instert team here” fans also rooting for the Yankees.

Too soon. It’s been a decade and it’s still too soon, especially since our current city counsil is hell bent on fucking it all up again.

The fuck you talkin about? The Yankees are the MLB equilalent of the Patriots. If you are a fan of any other team but the Yankees, you hate the Yankees.

An ambulance. A 1996 Road Rescue to be specific.

Ok, so MAYBE one additional floor of building would gain a view. Adding a view to one floor isn’t going to cause a gold-rush style building craze. You can only see the water from the top of the viaduct, and from that vantage point, so can those at the same elevation in the building.

You haven’t said anything about why public sector employees aren’t higherable in the private sector.

I drive it as least three times a week. The viaduct is only a couple of stories tall. Deleting the viaduct isn’t going to yield any significant view, and it certainly won’t yield a water view.

They’ll simply have views of the Aquarium, or Ivars, or the ferry terminal.

The MLS wants grass. It doesn’t require it. Century link is artificial turf.

Except the tunnel won’t have any downtown exits or onramps.

Technically the delay wasn’t because of old pipes, etc. It’s even worse. It was delayed because a contractor for the Bertha project left an soil sample pipe in the ground and digging contractor didn’t know about it.

By his own self admission he’s not from the area and avoids King County at all costs. He’s just another armchair QB ranting about shit he doesn’t understand.

Meh, I doubt it. Most of the buildings along the viaduct are really tall. The viaduct only takes up the first two/three stories of a building. The lease in the bottom three floors may go up but the overall value of the building won’t change much. It’s not like all 30 stories of a building are gaining views.

We already have an underground bus/light rail tunnel downtown. We don’t need another. This replaces a viaduct that critically failed in a 2001 earthquake that is sinking and will collapse in another earthquake.

You are correct on all things except the tunnel is not deleting a lane. The viaduct is only two lanes each direction with a few long exit lanes and merging lanes.

The surface option wouldn’t have worked so much give the lack of space available. The viaduct has north and south lanes on top of each other. A cut and cover tunnel would have been more appropriate.

Well, that and all the other infrastructure built right up beside I5 from 520 to Union.

Uhh, did you forget the fish truck that overturned and shut down 99 and created absolute gridlock?

Well, then no one cares what you think, just I don’t give two shits what Spokane does.
