Considering the margins that a niche game needs to be considered successful, actually I would say it could quite easily happen. Fans of those sorts of games tend to follow them and know what’s going on with them.

To me, it’s more like the argument against sexualizing fictional characters in games harms people playing them, desensitizing them to harassment and such. But suggest that playing a game like MK11 might do the same thing with violence and you get argued down.
