I, too, wish more games were made with more diverse player characters but I also feel it's dangerous to force artists to make certain kinds of art. If they want to make single player stories with men, fine. That's how its always been and if its a good enough story/game, I'll play it.

SR3 is the sweet spot. It is completely insane but still playable. They ramped up the madness in SR4 so much that it really spoils things, for me anyway.

You'll still have to make some effort to join someone else's game in co-op. Unless you can just randomly run into people while playing? And I thought that was lazy in Halo as well, but at least those games had other multiplayer modes with more inclusive options.

Oh I understood you, and you're right, with that system it is redundant. My point is, that system is an incredibly lazy way to do Co-Op.

Yep. Cleaner code means less bugs, faster bug fixes and generally easier work, so its a win all around.

Its an issue for me because that's a stupid way to handle it. How do they justify all four people on screen being the main character? They look to you like others, but then how would you clear a mission in your story if someone else is doing the main objectives at any given time?

That's one of their excuses for not putting in female characters, or true customization. Somehow all four of you are the main character and progressing through the same story.. despite being four different entities existing in the same space and time, doing different things in the mission.
