Really? All I hear is horror stories from friends where strangers just started talking to them and touch their belly. I mean, if no one interjects themselves into my life I will be eternally grateful.

Good question!

Moderation means not binge drinking every day. The women who had babies with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome on average had over 4 drinks in one sitting 6-7 times per week.

I do. I haven't done that much reading yet as I haven't dyed it since before I knew. The estimated amount of chemicals that cross into your blood stream (which they do) is less than would harm the baby. http://americanpregnancy.org/is-it-safe/hai…

That sucks! I think I’m much more paranoid about washing my hands during food prep especially after raw chicken (I always washed before and after, now it's every time I touch something else like the fridge). Everything is a calculated risk and balance in life.

You nailed it on the last part.

I bought a shirt that said don't touch the bump in block letters on lookhuman if you're interested :)

I'm not public yet, and I fear the wrath! The stories are insane.

There's a chance you'll get listeria, albeit a super small one. To avoid it you can make sure you eat steaming/freshly cooked meat.

I’ve read an article saying similar, and another jez suggested it. It might be the same author of the article I read (both women economists writing on pregnancy). That article is why I still drink coffee and alcohol honestly. If you don't isolate binge drinkers and Coke addicts from long term FAS and behavior problems

Oof I'm sorry you went through that!

I haven't yet. I'm not a big sushi eater anyway, so it wasn't an active decision.

Let me know how it goes!

I'm on it. Thanks!

I completely agree, but when companies are knowingly selling contaminated peanut butter and ecoli contaminated produce happen every season, decreasing your chances by .005% is not worth avoiding making a sandwich when I'm hungry.

You got it!

I don’t know if that’s sarcasm or not, but I’ll take it! (Also, full disclosure, I’m not this up front publicly about my habits. My husband and I have discussed and are on the same page, but I haven’t gone public yet, and I’m pretty sure when I do the public drinking will cease.)

Hey you’re doing a great job! Like you said, your second is a great kid with individual qualities and talents. Let her excel in what she does best!

I’m only 11 weeks, and have so far refused to let my MIL tell the rest of the inlaws, so she always wants to talk on the DL or as I was leaving last weekend she’s like “take care of yourself!” and patted my stomach and I damn near jumped away. NOTHING gives you the right to touch another person without consent. I
