And it was. And still is.

Haha. I grew up, first 19 years of my life, in a reasonably densely populated suburb of Boston, MA. My father, a firefighter, mother a nurse at a local hospital. My parents were well known in the community and we were always told as kids that someone was always watching our every move. We were good kids. But sometimes

Cousin of mine had a 1994? I think SSEI with white wheels. Oh. My. God. Every time I would see it I would just about come out of my pants. They hated that car and as I edged toward driving, I begged them to let me take it off their hands. They didn’t. Said it was their only reliable transportation with three kids

It is quite nice to know I’m not alone in this world. Also a huge soft spot for huge 1980's land barges that do 0-60 in a year.

I would have been too. I had the opportunity to buy one (had been wrecked, repaired well and could be had for a song.) However, I didn’t sing, I did the “responsible” thing and bought a lightly used, non wrecked ION that I loved. But I always pined for that SSEI.

Also driver oriented. Not as nice. Always liked these Bonneville’s as a kid. I was a weird kid. That Linc interior is amazing. I’ve always wanted one of those!

Thank you!! To be fair, the Spark EV is relatively gold. Someday, when I have the dollars, I desperately want a Bolt. I drove one. It’s amazing. Also, I got the equinox for 22k with rebates and my employee discount. Can’t complain.

Couldn’t agree more. The Terrain, especially from the front 3/4 is quite striking. Not pushing the envelope too much, however, attractive. The one thing that I wanted in the Equinox that comes in the Terrain is the front passenger seat folding flat. Alas, even though they’re technically the same seat frames, no gots.

I agree. The terrain is a Hodge podge of themes and design choices that I find questionable. The interior of the equinox feels more cohesive. Though, I imagine that the terrain is a bit higher quality in materials. The shifter buttons seem frustrating. What am I going to rest my hand on?

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t LOVE the rear end. But it’s got character. But this vehicle was designed to be attractive without being overwrought. I think they nailed that.

Honestly? Flame suit on, here. My 2018 Equinox 1.5T isn’t bad at all. It corners confidently, accelerates reasonably (especially if you don’t wind it out) and has a well weighted steering wheel that is accurate and direct. I came from a Camaro expecting to loathe my life after such a transition. I don’t. I genuinely

Why do they call it an all new design when it looks primarily like a heavy re-fresh? I mean, really heavy, but there’s just so much that is similar that I can’t help but think it was mostly phoned in. Even the door cut outs look the same from last gen to this gen.

Agreed. For a heavy up-fit over the G8 which it effectively replaced, it wasn’t too bad.

They’ve only offered massive discounts twice that I am aware of and it was toward the very end of the vehicle’s production life. And yes, why not offer discounts on a vehicle no one knows about? It’s a hell of a lot cheaper than spending precious advertising dollars to drive sales.

Exactly. And it worked. As well, for the most part, it was a pretty damn good bargain.

I wish people would stop saying “no one bought them.” They bought as many as GM would ship. It wasn’t marketed. It wasn’t special looking (though it was understated beauty with excellent proportions). And yet, even with that, they sold every one they made. Yes, I know there are a few left on dealer lots, however, it’s

Redacted. Reading comprehension is key, folks.

The Acadia is a similar vehicle (though not the same) as the Chevrolet Traverse. The traverse is bigger but rides on the same basic bones. The Equinox and GMC Terrain are the same basic vehicle. The Equinox so far (in 1LT trim with Convenience and Confidence package) is smooth, composed, quiet and efficient. The

For a company that doesn’t have a ton left, the $7,200 I just got off one is even more suspect. Why would you so heavily incentivize a vehicle that you don’t have many of? Also, that’s so new and well received in the segment? Not complaining, happy I got what I did for the money I spent for it.

I’m in North Carolina, come drive my family’s antique (hot rod diesel) fire truck. Twist my arm. It’s not fast. But it’s got gobs of power, nostalgia, lights, and it throws serious water at things. People. And fire (though, not recently.) I’ve annoyed Torch about this before but the option is still there.
