Another issue is that M-Sport without more Ford backing has to use their resources to build and service up to 50 Fiesta WRC’s and 180+ Fiesta R5 cars, whereas VW only used their resources on developing and servicing their WRC cars. Mads Østberg in M-Sport has used the same car all season with little to no testing,

Very similar to how Subaru and Suzuki left WRC before the 2009 season as well.

If they were to exit now that most of next years lineup in other teams are already decided, we might find three very good drivers out of contracts. The only comparable situation was with Petter Solberg when Subaru withdrew, and had to drive a 5 year old Citroën Xsara most of the next season. What if Ogier, Mikkelsen

I think Andreas would become the 2nd driver if they were to cut it to a 2-car team. But as Stef already pointed out, it most likely won’t happen.

Lots of weird things happening to Mads the last year. The return to Ford and change of codriver seems to have hampered his progress relative to the other drivers. Will be very interesting to see what kind of deal he gets for next season.

Toyota will add a third car at some point next season, because each manufacturer can nominate three cars for the championship from next year. I think they will have some degree of driver rotation in that third car too.

Well, Audi did mention rallycross when they announced their departure from WEC. Looks like they will increase their involvement in WorldRX though, hopefully with 2016 champion Mattias Ekström in the team.

Former WRC and WorldRX driver Manfred Stohl driving there. He’s involved in both the development of that car and the racecars of WorldRX Team Austria, which has been some of the best this season. He reported that this was unlike anything else he has driven, and that you can just forget everything you’ve learned about

Lappi hasn’t been confirmed yet by Toyota, right? Very likely that he will join the team though.

This was enjoyable, somehow.

Well, the Jeep Liberty was offered with a diesel in certain markets..

I would be very surprised if Audi were to cut their support for Mattias Ekström and his World Rallycross team after he won the title. These news also suggest that the brand has a future in rallycross.

Göteborg or Gothenburg - not something in between.

Well, at least you’ll be able to buy one of these race cars in a couple of years..

For some reason, there were only Swedes and Norwegians in the final..

It is available on NRK TV though. Reaches out to more viewers here that way.

Judging by the onboards, only 9 is required to make a great pass.

The live broadcast he linked to is geoblocked in several countries, might be why.
