I love how you briefly can see the other cars catching up on the onboard video.

It’s not mid-engined, but the cooling system is in the rear because rallycross tends to involve some body contact. Just like in this Saab:

I think Bertelli and his privateer team is a bit more concerned about car repairs than McRae was as well..

..but I already have a 142 to take care of!

Good spot, let’s hope you’re right and it’s not just a current model with a facelift by M-Sport. Could imply that Ford is back as a major sponsor for the program too.

It is fun to watch now that you could just go search for it on youtube and you’ll find hours of footage. Without experiencing it myself, I don’t think following Group B was that easy.

the FIA World Rally Championship is in Latvia.

I want this in WRC or WorldRX.

Mattias Ekström vs Petter Solberg for the title is the best friendly rivalry to happen in motorsport in years.

CP. You can get a newer stick 9-5 in the same condition with 60 more hp for half the price, and that’s in Norway where parts are plenty.

There is a difference between setting up a car for Spa and setting it up for a bumpy, mixed surface track with the occasional jump like you see in the video. You have to make compromises.

2: Funny how Loeb didn’t do that.

Well you will get to see them race very soon..

Solberg is known for having his car set up to be very quick on the gravel parts, but that way he has to be a bit more sideways on the tarmac. Other teams have tried a similar setup in testing, but don’t get it to work as Solberg does.

Absolutely, he did very well in France. 6th out of ~35 drivers is good.

He has been honest about this himself too, and it is why his teammate has better results. The sideways style was better for the Fiesta and the Global Rallycross Championship where he competed up until last year.

Soused mentioned his WRC championship record. He’s doing the full World Rallycross season this and the two next years.

A lot of it is due to competing against either driving gods like Seb Loeb or rallycross specialists that has raced on these tracks for years like Andreas Bakkerud, Timmy Hansen and Timur Timerzyanov. And then you championship contenders Petter Solberg and Mattias Ekström that are both driving gods AND familiar with

We’re talking about championship standings. Block also finished third at Hockenheim earlier this year.
