Not quite sure, but I think you would need to pay about double of what Hoonigan wants for this one.

Great to see Brynildsen here. I hope he gets more WRC2 outings with M-Sport this year, a driver with great potential.

Not a new thing though. The rally was not held in 1990 due to warm weather, and the 1999 edition had roughly the same amount of snow as we see today. In recent years we’ve often seen a lot of snow, but just around the rally weekend it has started thawing and melting down to the gravel on the roads. The early 2010's

Sod roof.

It’s not necessarily the tires that are too unsafe. It is what they do to a gravel road that is not frozen solid, making ruts that makes it both unaccessible to emergency crews and very expensive to fix.

Most of the cancelled stages were either shorter, more spectator friendly stages that wouldn’t do much to the overall standings, or the second pass of some stages. It’s shorter than usual, but not as dramatic as it might seem. Tomorrow SS20 Lesjöfors is also cancelled (see http://www.rallysweden.com/) because the

Things break on used cars.. What I can’t see how the wheel pattern kept you from putting on better wheels, as it’s the same as on the 140/240/740/940. Cars that has been used in motorsports since the late 60's, and there are plenty of aftermarket rims out there.

The only thing I don’t like is the big screen in the interior. That (and the price) is probably why I would rather buy a V70 if I suddenly got a family to transport. But I can certainly see myself owning one of these in 5-10 years.

Well, the Autoweek report says “Honda is expected to build its own cars, as opposed to renting and re-bodying cars from existing teams”.

Actually less competition from other factory teams in rallycross. Honda doesn’t have much rally history either.

A current interview with OlsbergsMSE (former Ford team) boss Andreas Eriksson reveales that they have sold most of their Fiestas, and that they are building something new behind closed doors. I would not be surprised to find the Swedish team responsible for the Honda effort, and there’s not many better rallycross

The rallycross season starts tomorrow with the first round of the winter RallyX On Ice series in Sweden. It is streamed live on SVTplay (www.svtplay.se/sport), starting at 09:00 CET and broadcasting all day.

Oh, it was told by Åse Kleveland in a TV documentary about rallycross legend Martin Schanche. It would’ve been very weird if I met Erik himself this week.

Yes, though that would probably help ethnic Swedes get jobs in immigrant centres and such. Here in Oslo I come across Swedes all the time, as they often find work in restaurants and similar. On my annual trip to the rallycross festival in Sweden I often talk to people between 18-25 that has no job, and an uncertain

Ah, Erik Carlsson “on the roof”. Heard a great quote from him this week:

Top photo reminded me of this:

Good luck. The job market in Sweden is very bad right now.

Obligatory Volvo 140 post. I’m quite convinced that this is the safest 50 year old car available.

These cars were actually deemed so safe that they didn’t really have to put in a rollcage for the rally version. I think they do now though.

That was the opposite way around, the Opel GT was derived from the Solstice/Sky.
