The Tales of series of RPGs support local co-op for up to 4 players. Since the combat is real-time, people can actively participate in random encounters, and people can always pass on the controller to change who is moving the main character outside of battles as well.

Exactly...this hate mostly comes from people who didn't even play the game. Knack has 4 to 4,5 stars on Amazon and people really like it. I know I did.

I don't even want to begin knowing how it's going to be free to play, knowing Square-Enix. Probably microtransactions out the ass, maybe some sort of bullshit energy/time gate.

Obviously, this was used with a combination of CG, but that's a combination that should make fans of old style special effects happy—and scared in a very good way.

Yeah, the "white background" cover is something I really enjoy too. It's simplistic and stylish, makes sure that you know "this is Final Fantasy". It's awesome. Font is always the same and everything.

I'm not worried, because the director of the original trilogy is running the show. And he didn't direct Dual Destinies (which was okay, but pretty clearly just putting together Ace Attorney greatest hits from old ideas).
