I find the humans a bit generic but I was surprised by the animation quality. It’s really refreshing after years of repeating animation recycling of the main Pokémon games.

In german there’s the problem that many words have a connotation of gambling. Especially zocken, the slang word for gambling became the slang word for gaming with younger people. But in recent years English took over and many use games, gaming and gamer cause it directly references to video games.

I don’t mind it so much in games where you can’t really see a mouth in the first place. That’s mostly old games that have a low resolution. But I don’t understand how they could do HD cutscenes and think, yeah we just leave the mouths shut.

I played the original (and afaik tried every other Mana game there is) and criticism seems to come down to art direction (and no online multiplayer). Could you tell me what area you stayed in? It’s actually illegal to use hazard for anything else than to signal upcoming danger for other cars like an incomming traffic jam or you have to slow down cause your car is having a problem.

Few years ago they found one in Munich that they had to detonate instead of defuse. The explosion was bigger than expected and still blew out windows, as far as I recall.

I think Mononoke was the last one that used cells but they used digital for some scenes if I remember correctly. Since Spirited Away they use digital inking (still drawing on paper first though) and compositing.
