Great summary of the BDSM issues.

flush the toilet. Better yet, close the lid

It makes me uncomfortable in ways I don't have words for right now.

Major consent issues, to the point of rape on several occasions. Yes there was a contract, which she actually never signs! He also prevents her seeking advice from friends on the contract, and threatens her with "if you don't do this we are finished" - all very abusive.

I have made a conscious decision to keep this out of their hands

The fact is, it's a love story.

Once again Jezebel continues its fangirl obsession with 50 Shades - A book series that shows a manipulative, emotionally and physically abusive relationship.

Basically the gist is that this guy needs his "submissives" in Olympian form because that's how crazy and violent his sex is.

Actually mics can start to smell really bad if not well looked after. On most there is a layer of foam behind the metal screen which can harbor all sorts of bacteria and other nasty things.

As a former touring sound engineer (part of who's job it was to keep microphones clean and sterilized), I have to say I really hope never!

You win the internet today!

This! Those are some of the best BDSM fiction ever written, would be amazing as movies!

we can safely say that not everything about this movie will be bad

Please don't go and see this. The books (and therefor very likely the movie) are about an emotionally abusive relationship. I urge you to consider the #50DollarsNot50Shades campaign instead and donate 50 Dollars to your local DV charity or Women's Shelter.

The reason this has always been the case is the simple fact that men make more money, and therefore spend more money on movies about men.

She is certainly somewhat annoying, but her songs mostly have a good message. I work in a large arena and am often amazed how live music can bring people to tears, even from artists I think have no talent!

Agreed, that point is deflecting the issue.

Tail end of Gen X :p

In the week when the 50 Shades movies comes out, at least someone is talking about domestic abuse instead of romanticizing and promoting it.
