The big problem is that too often what people NEED is a car that has a $400 payment for a reasonable length of time, at which point they should maintain it well and drive it another decade while saving the equivalent of that car payment for repairs and replacing it. But what they WANT is a car that has a $600-700++…

That is the part that I always scratch my head about, the topic of depreciation. I am someone who buys and holds onto my car for a very long time. I don’t care that it lost 30% of the value the second I drove it off the lot, I don’t plan on selling it anytime soon.

Everyone cannot only buy used cars. Used cars come from new cars. New cars are not evil, just buy within your budget.
