I feel this is pretty standard. Even at my company in nothing Minnesota. They tout “Company paid life insurance! Your beneficiary gets 1x your yearly salary if you pass away...” but I recently learned the company ALSO gets 1x my yearly salary in the same deal. It’s just business.
