The progress happens when someone who wants to make a game with a woman/gay/minority or whatever character does so. But pushing an artist towards making something they don't want is hardly progress.

While it's a nice option to play as a girl and BELIEVE me I would like to have had the option, if this is his vision, go with it. Perhaps down the road he can make a game with a female lead but pressuring him to make one for the sake of making one just doesn't sit well with me.
