He was on back-to-back with Krat's Kreatures and Wish Bone. Oh yes, childhood, there you are.

I think it was my good teachers that got me into the career as a scientist for sure. But the FIRST interest was my own. I definitely role-played as an adventure scientist growing up. Being a scientist and being interested in science are different things entirely, and the former can be a struggle like any career.
As a scientist, it was just being curious about the world. Having a talent for abstract thinking and a sharp memory helped propel me into the career, but being a scientist is a blend of creativity, attention to detail, and rigorous over-analyzing. It's a good time.
I thought they might troll the very idea of a Disney villain by having NO ONE really be a villain at the end. With fifteen minutes left in the movie and the climax coming, there was no clear villain. That was amazing for me. They subverted the very idea of what evil is in a Disney movie.
The reprise for this movie was ridiculously weak. Come on! The reprise needs to be huge, dramatic, yet super happy. It's a staple of all musicals, and I can't believe they slipped on that one.
It's a Disney movie, dude. It's going to be half musical. They owned that in this movie, and overall, they made sound musical choices similar to the Lion King.
This movie was awesome, and if they play it right, they could have more of a Toy Story type sequel verses say, Cars II. It's not quite as poignant as UP, sure, but it's much better than Brave and on par with How to Train Your Dragon.
Not convinced The Originals has long term potential without Rebekah. She was completely necessary to making Klaus work as a character. The show maybe can survive another season without her, but it's a show that should revolve around, you know, The Originals and not just be The Klaus & Company show.
I was always going to vote for the fantasy side of the bracket. Super easy choice.
Bats: the best mammals or the best animals? LBB are also effing adorable.
This. I think this is why you see really religious people freaking out over fantasy series and such.
I lived through the Harry Potter 'terror'. The thing I learned is that there's certain people who completely lack imagination. God help you if you're related to one.
D&D was before my time, but I went to a Christian school where we were banned from reading Harry Potter. That rule totally didn't stop my friends from reading it or their parents from buying it, and I borrowed the books off my friends because my mom refused to buy them for me. My sister and I would always be covert…
I've rewatched seasons 1 and 2. But I need to create a machete version for rewatching from season 3 onwards. It gets tough, and no amount of good twists could make up for the anti-climactic last season. The end of season 5 was completely discarded (all the build up was for nothing), and the final reveal about the…
I'm just voting against LotR for as along as possible because I can. When it comes down to sci-fi vs. fantasy, I'm 100% picking whatever fantasy choice makes it to the end.
Hellboy did well for itself. But there's no effing way Harry Potter isn't Final Four material. Also, if Firefly wins and Buffy loses, this fan will feel cheated.
I did! It's the first time I've voted for anything over Firefly. If you need to vote Whedon, Buffy is better. There, I said it. :)
Babies are at the center of a lot the sexist bullshit in labs. Not all of it, but there's really so much judgement (maybe not from the PI but sometimes other researchers) about choosing to start a family if you're a woman. *sigh* I did want to mention the difficulty working for a woman PI because I was told, as a…
STEM woman here. Neither of my parents are scientists and have hilariously minimal knowledge on how academia works. Part of making it in this field is just refusing to get intimidated. It's a skill I learned mountain climbing. People are going to question your competence, but you're part of this equation, too. For me,…
Focus on the challenge. That's what successful people in STEM do. And use your personality to your advantage. I can't stress that enough. White guys get an entire personality spectrum on which to define themselves. Life in STEM is much better in lab when you're not trying or letting other people push you into defining…
