I was wondering if there was going to be a Farscape entry. There were some extremely wacky monster of the week episodes in that series.

I know, right? It's this sneaky little genre show on MTV that looks gorgeous, has camp, and it's really damned funny at times...but also kind of scary?

Let's be real: Tennant's performance is THE reason to see this movie.

Everyone in this thread gets a +1 for being a decent person. Boo, McDonalds, boo.

What show have you been watching?

The Host is just boring. The book is Mormon AU fanfic, which is kind of fun, actually. The movie is just a thousand levels of UGH. And it's not even filmed in Utah. That's how bored I was — trying to figure out where they filmed it in Utah. Hint: they didn't.

I did like the set details in this episode. It was like Christmas threw up all over Monroe's house. They even got in the cheesy plastic, light-up Santas.

These studies are specifically looking at mortality. But if you have low calcium, iron, or vitamin D, a specific supplement can be helpful in improving specific quality of life issues. The 'magic bullet' multi-vitamin pill as a lot of evidence against it working, though.

I love the image! And yes, this is the winner for me.

The heroes in this show are kind of spineless, so any time the villains get the spotlight, I'm satisfied. But yeah, this show has lazy writing. MacGuffins are fine and whatever — as long as there's hard choices and conflict to go along with them and not just 'find the thing, use the thing — look! a new thing!' Tonight

Corvids! Great birds or the best birds?

Oh god, this is actually what they're probably going to do. Damn it, AHS, your Very Special Season on not being racist can be over now.

I love me some fairy tales, but gods, I'm just suffering some fairy tale retelling fatigue right now. ENOUGH. Make New Things.

This. This is why I groaned when I heard Jackson was splitting the Hobbit. It's not LotR: the Prequels. It's The Hobbit, which is entirely different in scope and nature from LotR. Even when you got bored, Jackson stretching LotR out for-ev-er made sense because that's the nature of that story.

Yeah, everything Jackson's done would benefit from some 'kill your darlings' and scene tightening. That said, he was probably the perfect director for LotR.

My bf knows how to make these, and he told people. Everyone got excited, he made some, and proceeded to nearly kill everyone at the party. Pro-tip: make a half recipe. :)

I came here to recommend this! We had a 'Feast of Thrones' in October last year and cooked some recipes/variations on recipes from that book. It was great — it was like an early thanksgiving. The basic theme was: keep everything rustic, meaty, and sweet. As a bonus, you could dress up all medieval if you feel so

This. These are instances where gender matters. There are others where it isn't the defining characteristic. Hey, remember when Starbuck became a woman and everyone freaked out but then it was an awesome choice?

The only quality argument in the 'no female doctor' debate is that Moffat would completely destroy the character because he doesn't know how to write women as completely realized people. Under a different head writer, I'd say a female Doctor is NBD.
