Not a military question — that’s a civilian question. The military isn’t “trying” to do anything except execute the tasks its civilian leaders have assigned it.

Orlove: Go read Clausewitz, then get back to us.

YF-23. The better of the two Advanced Tactical Aircraft prototypes.

Yep, this is what chased me out of Boy Scouts a long time ago.

Honda Fit. In manual form it’s a blast; rev-happy and tossable. I’ve tracked & auto-crossed mine.

Don’t we wish. Except for Tesla, there are no company dealers in the US — they are all independent dealerships resulting from archaic distribution systems dating to the 1940s (or earlier).

Of course there isn’t life there... yet. We have to maroon Khan’s people there first!

For Sale: ImpStarDeuce. Ran when parked.

Tuneband is great. I use the rubber portion as a case full time. Durable, easy, and effective.

No Atari 2600? Bah, kids these days.

They haven't but that's a pretty good idea, actually. External fuel tanks work pretty well and there is room on the rear sponsons aft, as long as the tanks are designed to not interfere with mobility.

Yep, the fuel economy sucks but replacing the engine has been found to be far more costly than any of the other things that have been doe to the take, for far less return; the near-term solution is to finally field an under-armor APU to drastically reduce the tank's fuel requirement while halted. If someone were to

Not any time soon. The cost of an engine replacement has repeatedly been ruled out as too expensive for the relatively modest gains in fuel efficiency.

M1A2SEPv3 is the current official plan for the "Abrams ECP 1" effort. The Abrams program has a bit of an allergy to a new alpha designation because there's a perception that that equals a "new program" for which increased oversight and scrutiny would be required.

Tank commander visibility is the concern — as you can see it impedes forward visibility when the tank commander is operating out of the hatch.

Nope. We've looked at both options, several times. The business case simply isn't there for a total repower. The turbine is getting some fuel efficiency improvements instead.

It’s better weaponized, trust me.

Mind. Blown.
