Watching Skill Up’s review is pretty eye-opening on how awful this thing is. The thing about Saints Row 3 that worked and why it caught on is that it found the proper tone to deal with the fact that the boss and they’re squad of mates were these likable goofs who quipped and joked around, while also being violent

They keep ignoring the fan base. An keep running after this bigger imaginary fan base that never actually turns up.

I think the combat systems in the FF7 remake proved that square knows there’s a not insignificant portion of it’s fanbase who wants turn based combat back.

They’ve been trying to cater to a bigger audience by implementing more western rpg mechanics in their combat but it’s alienating part of their core audience.

For a

There’s no reason ATB innately has to continue requiring menu navigation. Newer turn based RPGs like Persona 5 have shown that you can streamline it and make it feel a lot smoother by tying the most common commands to single button presses and only putting more specialized stuff in menus.

Not exactly a spoiler, considering it’s the resolution to a Final-Fantasy-ass Final Fantasy story, but you have just described the Endwalker expansion to FF14. Several times over, in fact, if you count the current content patches. And it has lower minimum/recommended requirements than even World of Warcraft.

God that

give me FULL control of every member of the party.

The ATB menu was intuitive for me. I don’t know what you mean by the menu being clumsy or the numbers thing. You choose and move on. SE even put in a memory choice where the cursor is on the last item you chose. I can understand not liking the menu because you’re an action junkie and want the action immediately but

There is absolutely nothing complicated about the ATB system. If you're looking to min/max every turn of every battle through the entire game maybe but for general play it has none of the issues you describe.

I don’t think I can really buy that explanation. The system of numbers is still what underpins all of the more action oriented FF games. It’s why, when in FF7 Remake, if you hit the dodge/block button, you might not actually dodge or block. The numbers are still determining what you can and cannot do.

It’s click a Couple of buttons it’s not a big convoluted system that your making out, it’s very easy to understand, just look at persona it’s stuck with the jrpg formula people want and it’s great. 15 was not a proper jrpg in my eyes it’s a more western style rpg which takes away part of the reason people play final

X was the last good single-player FF. Give me atb, give me FULL control of every member of the party. Don’t try to make it actiony. FF shouldn’t try to be DMC.

They look great! Except the font is horrid and offputting. With SE so often if it’s not one thing, it’s another.

Correct.

Keanu Reeves has no objections to you sexualizing an AI Keanu Reeves, either.

I mean, the “solution” is to not have the lowest vaccination of any developed nation besides Russia and maintaining protocols until cases are next to non-existent instead of the rollercoaster of giving up the fight right as we’re turning the corner like firefighters that start packing up when they’ve got the open

Also, Go Donate Blood or Plasma. There is currently an international shortage that needs to be filled

Maybe it wasn’t what people expected.

Congrats, for literally the dumbest take. You should look into the BBC fires and the practice of taping over old tv film that caused countless tv shows to be lost forever.

He likened Activision to be as important as his children...

If you had a convincing argument about their real worth, presumably you’d offer it, but instead you went with, “google it yourself!” Which suggests you don’t.
