The Mustang didn’t start out as a muscle car, it started as a pony car - not high performance but high style. It was originally marketed as a “secretary’s car”

2nd Gear: From youridioms.com:
Heated seats, while they sound simple, are more complex than your example. First, the heated seat control is going to need a couple of high-current MOSFETs to duty cycle the resistive coil mats and a A2D channels to read the PTC (positive temperature coefficient) device to sense the temperature. It will also need some…
The industry hasn’t used through-hole for decades. Almost everything, with the exception of connector headers, is all surface mount.
There is a difference between chip design and chip fab processes.
You have to read the article and the relevant law. When most of these tickets were written, occupying the left lane is only an infraction when it is posted with appropriate signage. There was no “Keep Right Except to Pass” signage on I-22.
Uh... what? LIDAR is LIght Detection And Ranging; it’s a laser-based volume scanning system that builds a 3D model of the scene centered around the sensor. It is entirely self-contained.
Yes, or at least driving unsupervised. We already do this. And yes, if you are driving with a learner’s permit you can get tickets for traffic violations.
A correction for Reverse. The GM heritage center is in Sterling Heights, MI; not Sterling, MI. Sterling Heights is just north of Warren, MI, the home of the GM tech center. Sterling is a tiny village (pop ~500) about two hours north of Sterling Heights.
This has the same problem as every other ultra-low mileage car - you can’t drive it.
Henry David Thoreau was the original glamper. The cabin on Walden Pond was a 20 minute walk from his family home; his mom regularly brought food, cleaned and did his laundry. The land was served by a rail line; and was wasn’t some backwater wilderness - it was owned by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
I call foul on this.
They both feature mountains, with LotR’s Mount Doom and Cold Mountain’s.... uh.... Mount Cold.
Rough average for corn yield is 170 bushels an acre; so you’d need to harvest about 45 acres an hour - so figure around 360 acres in three 8 hour days to cut enough corn to pay it off. The average farm size in Iowa, as of 2012, was only 345 acres. Nebraska is a bit better - with the average farm size of of 980.
5th gear: There’s a lot of automation in stuff like big combines; but they’re still manually driven.
You’re missing the editor who would have sent this sentence go live on a farm; with a suggested replacement of “It’s clear that no level crossing can be as safe as a grade separation” or even just striking it.
There is a lot going on in your picture for #3; but I’d just like to point out that the stop line is doing nothing for this grade crossing. There should be a redundant traffic control before the tracks, with a second control at the intersection and an exclusive cycle to clear the through traffic.
It’s not so much “Buy them new” as “The few that do appreciate”. Sure , some cars may go up in value and enthusiast cars do wind up with bathtub-shaped value curves; but that’s not really the majority of the market. It’s not how 99% of the buyers act, and 99% of the vehicles aren’t ‘enthusiast’ vehicles. Just to pick…
Please, just stop.
The time doesn’t line up. Colbert was born in 1964, not 1950. Colbert’s dad and two brothers were killed in the Eastern Air 212 crash in 1974.
