This is kind of mental disconnect I find fascinating among my white colleagues.

I get this...but choosing to attempt to live in one of most expensive cities on earth is crazy to me. It is like the folks that commute many hours each day to live in big ugly McMansion in suburb. We have many these people in Baltimore/Washington area when I lived there.

California is one of most expensive states to live in. This is like someone saying they must live in Manhattan to be happy, so they live in phone booth.

As someone that fled war zone as refugee to come to America I do not understand why so many young, bright, and intelligent people go to very expensive parts of California to live.

What I don’t understand why people do not just move. why place life in risk to live in one particular city? makes no sense to me...especially California.

China has extensively expanded its “soft” power, through economic investments around the world. This, along with the growing and mostly isolated domestic market means that China can effectively ignore the US for the most part and then hit it where it hurts the most, at the most effective time.

I have job for Japanese company because I do much work in Southeast Asia and mainland China.
