Vast majority of people enlisting in military did it for similar reasons I did. I went in to gain US citizenship, the training, and the college benefits. Politics is not part of it.

An issue I have with many WWII era games is the depiction of the German military, and the dubious historical argument that the Wehrmacht was somehow the clean, noble part of the German military and it was just SS units committing atrocities.

I prefer South in US than Great Lakes region. In South, people at least acknowledge history of racism. In say Michigan, no local will admit that Detroit was destroyed because locals could not handle desegregated school system.
