Good people just ARE good because they know it's how they are supposed to behave. They don't expect anything for it. Same reason we get so freakin pissed at the "Nice Guy" who expects access freely granted to our body because he didn't try to TAKE it. But be careful when you judge - that white woman posting

The author's view on "good white people's" actions following the recent events reminded me a lot of what an acquaintance wrote in a feminist forum I am a part of about what it means to be a man in the conversation. While it's not exactly the same, just replace some of the verbiage and I think this is what the author

Ginsburg's scones are excellent.

follow up story: those responsible secretly murdered by me.

Wrong. In California, applicants are not required to disclose arrests that did not lead to conviction, juvenile offenses, or convictions for which the applicants successfully completed a drug diversion program. That's it.

Free speech isn't absolute and never has been. Why would you be against banning harassment? There are laws against that out in meat space you know. And hate speech is against the law in many countries. The US is somewhat of an outlier in protecting hate speech and I'm not positive that it's a good thing we do.

Look, most people don't think the internet should be a lawless realm where anything goes. There are victims who's lives are affected in the real world, and people should be held accountable. The "slippery slope" argument is a lazy copout.

Ah yes, that company they were in the 80s and 90s...the one on the verge of bankruptcy?

Reading some comments on this article are extremely disconcerting to someone who has specialized in immigration. There is a total disconnect between some preconceived notions regarding immigrants/prejudices about immigrants and current/historical immigration policy.

YES WE ARE ALLOWED TO REALIZE THE SEVERITY OF A CRIME AND ALSO LAUGH AND HAVE A GOOD TIME AT THE RIDICULOUS ASPECTS OF A STORY.

I don't mean to sound cruel or unfeeling, nor am I at all interested in a debate about abortion, but let's just be honest here.

In my experience they've already been looking to trade up long before they're "stolen" away. They don't leave the person they're currently with because they don't want to be single and the person they're with is "better than nothing".

Thank you! Being compared to Tracie isn't really an insult, you know. I was a fan years before I worked here.

I'm sure he was prepped. He probably knew some of the terms and needed to be told others. I would say it would be unusual for a kid that age to give the forecast that fluently- even with prepping.

I went for a really long time where, every time I washed my face, I would wash my eyes and rinse really fast because I was convinced! that someone would be standing behind me when I opened them.

I've seen so many horror movies and read so much Stephen King that usually these stories don't get to me — yesterday's weren't that bad at all, to me — but holy crap if The Next Cabin Over didn't just freak the shit out of me. We also live way back in the woods, and at night it's pitch black out here and I'm always

I hate all of these kinds of catcalls, but I swear to zombie Jesus, the next time someone says that shit about, "Oh we can't be friends?" I'm gonna be like, "YUP. BESTIES. Let me tell you about what my husband said the other day/my period cramps/how shady someone was being on facebook." And then as they're objecting

Men aren't entitled to a woman's time or attention. Just because you see her doesn't mean you get to interact with her. It's not rude to ignore rudeness.

Here's the thing. In my experience, I NEVER, literally NEVER see men casually greet each other on the street unless they know each other. These men are throwing out seemingly harmless greetings in hopes you will turn and want to talk. Or they may just want a smile. Sorr,y but I only smile when I feel smiley, not
