It is for performance. All racecars and their engineers fight dealing with the driver. It is a necessary evil. They want to get the driver's weight as low as possible to balance the car. With the GT cars you can then move the driver forward or back to help with front to rear weight balance. The Dempsey Racing RX-8

Unfortunately we were not at that section of the track when that happened. Would have been quite the photo! Race was an excellent one and Barber is a great location!

The event ran this past weekend but since the Detroit Auto show was running the Roar Before coverage went up a little bit late.
