Yeah, when the top technology was a fucking musket then maybe you'd have a point. But no private citizen would stand a chance against the might of your actual military. This is 2013, not 1776. The enemy doesn't take 5 minutes to load their guns. They don't even need to physically be there to kill you.
I just don't understand Americans' obsessions with guns. An assault rifle has no purpose but to kill, and in the most devastating and efficient way possible. That's not something I would ever want in my house or near my family.
