The textures are great actually, its the models that are super low poly.

This here wins! Because the trailer looked so awesome, the designs were brilliant, and I loved every single actor. And Ridley Scott, what's not to love? Oh, right, we forgot that we needed a script...

All that 'viral' marketing (trailers of trailers, TED promo, websites), rich story background, great cast and director, great cinematography. Meh end result with 'scientists' doing not so scientific things.
