The fact that you can't figure out that he's talking about doing a live read for the purpose of a produced recording without prep work, and not sitting down and reading silently for leisure in his living room, suggests that you probably have difficulty understanding spoken English, let alone actually reading.

To *live read* the 25 pages for the purposes of recording, presumably with multiple takes and figuring out the voice direction as he goes along with the people directing the recording.

Do you know what all goes into reading these things and how it's done? The process and setup?

If you listen to the podcast, he talks about how it's hard cuz a lot of the words are made up and incomprehensible (and/or just hard to read and pronounce). Don't know what book he read, so don't know if it's true, but there are definitely fantasy novels with lots of weird fake languages and stuff

Most people call it 2 hours, but even then, it was part of the Orange Box, which was $50, had all of HL2, TF2, and it. So it's not like you paid $30 for Portal alone. (which I think may be pricy but worth it)
