i thought he really classed up the ceremony personally. he set the tone for the others who followed, collectively giving everyone permission to act like human beings and less like the corporate drones they typically come off as.

man, i dunno. glass onion was kind of over-worked, and benoit blanc kind of disappeared in it at times. and i found myself asking, “oh, who the fuck is this guy again?” the tension of the story felt threadbare and the themes felt all of a sudden far too heavy for the light characterizations at hand.

biggest disappointment was Made in Abyss S2 by a mile. like, they had every opportunity to address the bloated and often incoherent storytelling of the village arc but they not only adapted every storytelling flaw faithfully, but they compounded it with truly bizarre structural decisions. 

why is everything on kotaku framed in such a negative light? “fan begging.” ffs, fromsoftware, like any developer, releases products on their own internally set schedule.

the ps5 has become exponentially more available this holiday season. just saying. i got the god of war ragnarok digital ps5 bundle last week with minimal fuss.

i feel ya man. i, too, was limited by the ps4 until just last week. but i decided it was finally time to change. i know it’s been difficult to find the ps5 but it’s gotten much easier lately, as long as you’re looking for a bundle. i found mine on walmart’s site. 

it was really nothing exceptional. merely serviceable for the most part.

well, that’s actually rather unusual, tbh, so i feel like this point could’ve been better contextualized. typically patch notes are the developers way of directly communicating to their users. and that may still be the case here. but obviously shipping an absolute piece of shit game is unusual for nintendo.

it’s kinda weird that you throw around “Nintendo” like they are the developers of the software or the people who would communicate via patch notes. 

i disagree regarding marking sidequests separately. i feel like it’s a philosophical point being made that witcher 3's sidequests are all of a piece with the main campaign. because it makes it feel like it’s really geralt’s life—with him constantly balancing multiple competing demands on his time and loyalty. 

yeah, in this case the game’s strength—its side quests that are as substantial as most game’s main campaigns—also undercuts it for players who simply don’t have that kind of available time and attention span. because the sidequests go on for hours and hours. on the other hand, no one would ever accuse it of being…
