the superficial aesthetic of the world may remind of Dishonoured but I swear to god they just traced over Yarnham in order to design this world and its characters. The spaces and characters *feel* like Yarnham has been re-skinned

this is very “trump era”—who needs compassion, after all? useless feelings.
admittedly, 500K to fund a videogame is pathetically low. they should’ve cancelled their kickstarter and sought an alternative funding method.
did you know that james bond is public domain in canada?
keep in mind our limited pov on the matter and apply some common sense to fill in the interpretation gaps—in this manner we can avoid being guided by bias to come to conclusions that primarily satisfy our egos rather than the truth.
that 4 million is just compensatory damages—i.e. the cost of the trial and associated expenses for the family. next up is punitive damages, which are decided separately. they are often higher figures as they are more abstract in nature. i guess we’ll find out tomorrow or early next week.
do you have a steam library? i’d say that a lot of the best games for steam deck, namely indie games like hollow knight, dead cells, etc, are already available for switch. so the deck appeals mostly to pc gamers who feel like getting a switch would be redundant, but still want to play games portably.
not overly hostile. this blog is basically “things we’re shitting on today” at this point.
it kind of sucks that the Vikander film basically salted the earth on the only good tomb raider story worth adapting. i’m afraid they’ll have to take the cringey jolie interpretation again.
although it’s funny to think that Phil Fish and D’Astous are basically saying the same thing—that modern Japanese game developers are a shadow of their former selves. with some notable exclusions.
i think that sony’s acquisition of square enix is basically inevitable at this point. but it seems kind of pathetic, in a way. square enix, from an outsider’s perspective, should be a powerhouse, independent developer.
‘ In previous years, there were simply not enough games on the console to justify having folders.’

true story: my wife is from Kowloon! she was only a very young child when she lived there, but her memories were not miserable. her family lived there to save money and every day travelled across the bay to Hong Kong island to work.
this game is literally just a disability tax. like, the increased accessibility is their justification. should be a free update on the old edition.
they had a decade to turn things around already, and they haven’t. i’m not sure buying a bunch of studios is going to change microsoft’s corporate thinking. each of these developers is eventually going to have to buy their independence, IO Interactive style, in order to make anything good again.
to be honest, this is what’s fun about the game’s lore—that it’s indeterminate. i’m 100% sure that this lore was written with that knowledge in mind as well—after all, these folks have probably spent hundreds of more hours than you dwelling on this topic.
so there’s some white guy who call himself the anime pope? this is the least surprising thing ever. at least he’s not calling himself the emperor of anime.
i’ve yet to get a tattoo, but if it were to happen it would probably be one of the many symbols from Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Elden Ring (yes, I know that many of them are from Berserk, you don’t have to tell me that). however, i realize that they’re kind of popular so i’d need to figure out how to make it look extra…
i’m not inferring that it sold poorly. i genuine don’t know.
