design and art go hand in hand. don’t be naive.

are you for real? when i play a game that’s too easy, i just either a) have my fun with it or b) stop playing it because it’s boring. there are plenty of challenging games and it’s my responsibility to find games that i enjoy—i don’t expect developers to change their artistic expression for my enjoyment. i just go

what about electrons that behave differently under observation.

it’s just an art style difference, not a graphical downgrade. i don’t think this is worth the hostility that say, Pokemon Arceus’s technical shortcomings has engendered.

“supplanted” ≠ “supplemented”

Dark Souls, docked on Switch, has a resolution of 1080P. Dragon’s Dogma has a resolution of 900P. Both of these resolutions were standard resolution of the xbox one and ps4 generation. Pokemon Legends Arceus has a dynamic resolution between 1080P and 900P.

Both Dark Souls and Dragon’s Dogma feature complex collision physics, and Dragon’s Dogma has dynamic object based lighting and shadows. Concerning AI, Dragon’s Dogma handles multiple, complex AI supporting characters and enemies on the screen at once—many of whom have unique and rather epic magic animations and fire

switch may have mediocre hardware, but it does play several open world games of considerably higher complexity than Arceus pretty damn well (Dragon’s Dogma and Dark Souls would be my reference points).

“Nobody is ever happy with anything.”

i think nintendo is relatively safe in the console war, as long as they can get their shit in order and release some good games. they don’t really need to acquire anything. but sony is being threatened and acquiring capcom or square would be a wise move in order to preserve the sony ecosystem and enforce fair play

yep, i just buy the games on sale. only full priced game i’ve purchased lately was hitman 3, but that’s because it’s one of only two developers i fully support and can trust to deliver the goods (the other being from software)

must suck for people who have been working through a game for a year, spent a hundred dollars on game pass, and now have to buy a real copy if they didn’t finish it.

all that money but not an ounce of taste.

sure, but at the end of the day, the quality of the games produced really does count for a lot. sony cleaned xbox’s clock last gen because microsoft failed to consistently develop good games in-house. it doesn’t matter how much money they spend if their business and creative culture produces poor games. microsoft has

dude, have you condsidered that you might subconsciously be into BDSM and shame-play? you seem bizarrely fixated. I play From Software games because I like the game play and basically i think they’re cool. there’s no sexualized element to my enjoyment of the games. you wouldn’t accuse guys who like chess of secretly

i’ll probably go with Sudafed.

i’d like to think i have a pretty good, realistic perspective on video game graphics and yeah the bigger environments do look crazy bad. i wish there was ps2-grade fog hiding everything thirty feet out from view. but that said the towns and buildings look okay and the characters look... okay. but those mountains,

technologically speaking PS1 is so far back in time that there can’t be any realistic expectation that its physical media should be supported.

you can say that again.

imagine if your bosses kept you chained to a single franchise for 25 years, in a local corporate culture that resists jumping ship. you’d probably be making all kinds of crazy demands, running up the bill, etc. yeah kojima was difficult but also he was propping up that entire company. look at what happened when Pro
