i hate to say this, but i have a bit of a problem with kotaku at the moment. for the last couple weeks there have been a series of increasingly aggressive articles on here—bordering on malicious hitpieces—that read, at least to me, a mellow, late 30's guy, as juvenile and unprompted. it’s felt like EDITORIAL HAS

is the nasty mean streak i’ve detected lately due to the change in editor? i’m a bit shocked. i don’t recall hernandez being so negative in her writing before. so it’s somewhat of a surprise if this is in fact the case.

...or you could just do a better job of planning in advance? engage in a litte healthy self-criticism here.

“and have no plans for launching any other model at this time.”

lol you think they revolutionaries aren’t getting their weapons under the table from the CIA?

naw, this guy sounds like fun.

a raccoon just laid a steamer on my deck but no one’s writing headlines about that.

it feels really irresponsible.

something has changed in patricia’s tone, or attitude, since they were here last. i hope it’s not a trend. especially because they have editorial control. like, it’s okay to point out that a person is or was a jerk. it’s another thing entirely to circle that point for paragraphs, dissecting a few words until they’re

this article feels malicious.

i think that’s a bit of a chicken or the egg debate. was a platform popular because it was pirated, or was it pirated because it was popular?

this doesn’t really hold water anymore, now that nintendo is providing many older games via its own subscription service. this guy was a parasite, going far beyond what other sites were providing access to.

wow, hahaha.

...and believing that people are pro-life are stupid is just one of many of those multiple viewpoints. thanks for summing it up.

bethesda is a huge developer and publisher though, with multiple IPs. sony’s stable of developers are all relatively small, boutique firms with one or at most two IPs.

also, sony santa monica, naughty dog, insomniac, even from software are boutique operations, putting out one title every couple of years. bethesda is far more prolific.

i fully expect elder scrolls and the next fallout to be xbox exclusives as well. the only reason nothing’s been said on that front is because they’re slowly drip feeding us the horror of what they’ve done.

i’m not complaining, it’s just a sad and pathetic move. microsoft didn’t build bethesda up from the ground.
