i sold my OG switch earlier this year. not because i’m disinterested in the console, but because there’s been a plateau of new games to interest me, and i believe a switch pro debuting next christmas will probably nail the “switch” concept perfectly.

I think they should call themselves the “Pete Patrol.” Or the “Buttigang.”

except for the courts. they seemed intelligent enough to fine the guy for being stupid enough to loan the character out.

let kojima make a jedi game. i’m sure he’d figure out how to make non-lethal options a fun gameplay mechanic, as he usually does.

i hope theyre given a free hand to completely reimagine the game, comsidering that it is easily one of the weaker entries in the series. and then....re4! would be amazing to see how they could reconceptualize that game...although perhaps after the 3make they can return to original entries.

20-30 hours is a a huge chunk of gaming for a single player game. call of duty’s single player campaigns are usually less than 10 hours.

they were absorbed into valve, so they’re not campo santo anymore. valley of the gods is presumably still a work in progress, although i thought it would be done by now. i wonder if they were forced to move the project over to the source 2 engine?

if they’re not doing full arms, i want to see the subcutaneously fat, muscles and bones at the wrists. give me those Stephen Biestly-style incredible cross-sections!

there are more first worlders than ever these days.

i think it’s important to just go for a really long walk after one’s first VR experience. otherwise the inherent claustrophobia of the experience might do a trick on your brain.

so, Half-Life, which already abused the Greek letter “Lambda” (L) in “Hλlf-life”—flipped the “λ” into a “γ” or “Gamma” (G), for the upcoming sequel, Half-Life Alγx. And no, it doesn’t really look like a proper Upsilon. I’m sure they were going for the inverted Lambda.

this doesn’t change the fact that steam has radically extended the life of every game on its platform. no more broken discs, etc. obviously there are imperfections in the system, but overlooking its strengths would be a mistake.

yeah it is. nearly all games currently on steam are playable on windows.

most of these games are more than ten years old. this isn’t port begging. it’s about preservation. most people who played these on ps3-ps2 or whatever don’t even own those systems anymore.

“Anthem Next”

the rare instance of the outside matching the inside

why does she look like a racist, sexist caricature?

i hope they’re not using cut the force awakens footage—her performance in that film was pretty execrable.

i think the common reader has no idea how expensive journalism is. there’s a reason that the most successful are bankrolled by nouveau riche billionaires, old money, and venture capitalists. these are largely vanity endeavors, regardless of their immeasurable, and thus incalculable cultural value.
