another thought: handheld mode’s small screen already renders so much in-game text borderline unreadable, as well as make games with tiny characters or lots of action difficult to see (smash bros or bayonetta) so i am genuinely curious how gamers will cope with an even smaller screen.

I reserve judgement until we see actual trailers or episodes. Still images are rarely reflective of a show’s general vibe. These all feel very ‘entertainment weekly exclusive cover shots’ to me, and those always look overlit and bland.
