i think we have the same problem where our brains misrember crysis as far cry...which isn’t surprising considering how similar their opening levels are.

i mostly agree here, but when it comes to prophecy i think martin is more interested in how prophecy can manipulate a person’s emotions-there’s no way he follows through on rewarding the prohecies themselves. i don’t think martin has a weakness for magical thinking.
