His lack of any details or substance inclines me toward the cynical view. He sure has a lot to say, like A WHOLE LOT, without ever really saying anything.

If I’m supposed to believe he was somehow victimized and that the careers of his alleged victimizers should be impacted, I’d really like more than what currently

Is there any stories of this situation improving the final product?

I don’t believe we are in a simulation, but how has this been “disproved” exactly?

Neither “Marilyn Mason” nor Marilyn Manson appear in this.
He was originally cast as “The Kid” but scheduling conflicts and budget concerns got in the way and the character was cut entirely from the story.

I do get it, but why achieve representation by basically “riding the whiteness” of an established white character than advocate focusing on getting representation in the form of already minority characters?

Does no one else see problematic the inherent suggestion that exists here that the only way a minority character

I don’t want this... yet I’m going to tune in.

What is wrong with me?

‘Oh, the ghost can only be defeated by someone who killed before they walked. Well like twenty folks in the village had their mother die in childbirth so we got a good selection to work with. Arm them up.’

That’s what was so great whenever Gandalf the White finally showed up to battle.  We had seen little bits of magic throughout the story, but man, when he showed to up wrecked shop, it was like watching a God wielding tremendous power.

Asian-coded characters who always practice martial arts.

I had my own thing written with respect to this, then did a little bit more “research” before I hit submit. Apparently “Wicca” as per modern usage is derived from the Old English word for “witch”, but it does likewise bother me when anything/anyone uses “Wicca” as a blanket term for witchcraft or witches in general

I enjoyed this way more than I should have lol... and maybe I’ll finally get around to watching this.

Thank you for providing the context. I saw this stuff with Abrams and Hannigan previously, and saw this headline and had an idea of what I was in for.

Its VERY important context and honestly, the context is more interesting / newsworthy than an offhanded (and likely in jest) comment by Hannigan.

I normally expect better

Out of respect for Christopher Nolan, who was so against people seeing this any other way but in a theater in the middle of a pandemic, I’ll pass.

You’re welcome, Mr. Nolan.

Couldn’t disagree more.  It was only the third Stephen King novel I had read, and at the time I was far from considering myself a “fan” of King’s work. This was the first step toward making me a fan, and I found it to be a masterful examination of human nature. I could easily speak of this novel in the same breath as

It quickly turned into “lol what wacky disaster of the week is the Dome going to throw at us this week that we’ll solve and ignore completely moving forward?!”

I read the book, and it was a fantastic study of humanity under extreme (and isolated) conditions. Lord of the Flies level examination. I have NEVER hated a fictional character as much as I grew to hate Big Jim and Junior.

The show wasn’t even a pale imitation of the series... it was something altogether different.

Was anyone else getting strong “The Kid is this show’s version of Flagg” vibes? I was hoping this was the route it was going, and the whole thing where The Kid seemed to legitimately not remember for sure aspects of his past lines up with Randall Flagg’s experience in The Stand.

Plus, it would have been somewhat

I’m not aware of the line you’re referencing, but if Jango Fett wasn’t a real Mandalorian then what was he?

I work in graphic design, and printing/manufacture of signs and shirts... if you DON’T adjust skin tones, ESPECIALLY darker skinned individuals, the final results are horrible. We’ve gotten business specifically as a result of some of our customers having banners from other places printed where darker skinned people

Speaking as someone who was the target audience of the original MMPR, and that also rediscovered his love for it in his 30s with a lot of the anniversary collections and such that got released, I loved the film.

It didn’t make a ton of money, which I think is the end-all, be-all as to why they are rebooting again.

I
