Don't remember that, thanks Helen. Must have missed that part of adolescence. Probably spent too much time shooting pool and pinball. Ah well...still looks like a fun flick.

And the Jalop community comes through! Thanks guys, all of you. If I could afford a black or dark grey 997, I think yellow headlights would look sweet...just before I got ticketed here in Michigan.

A question for the Jalopnik community: I know that many Euro-market 911s (and other cars) were fitted with amber headlights, in addition to amber fog lights. Why amber? And why not in the U.S.?

Hear, hear. At least in the first moments of meeting him, all you saw was his face. For me (and probably for him) that makeup was his costume, and he inhabited it beautifully.

Possible error: the movie is set in 1979, but the first shuttle test flight was in 1981. Yet there's a shuttle poster in the kid's bedroom...

Yeah, him plus Ron Eldard give me hope for this. Ron's one of the best, most subtle and effective actors we've got. I'll see it just for him.

Whether or no, it counts as massively cool. Would that I had the time and resources for this kind of caprice. The effect is beautiful.

Searching online for "engines from a decommissioned military UAV." So far, big goose egg.

I think this says more about the million morons following him, than the moron being followed.

Very cool of you to post this. Many thanks.

Glenn Dreck.

Actually, the city wanted to save the Jacklin House. Meaningful? Only to good ol' Steve-O.

I'm sure it doesn't.

Bill Gates may not have great taste, but he's made great mountainous piles of cash and has spent the past few years figuring out meaningful ways to spend that cash for the betterment of the planet.

Calm down there, assflap. Folks come to Jalop to be entertained and informed. You come here to troll, evidently. VTEC might be a meme, bot VTOL ain't, and it's got nothing to do with this post. To think it does is the real definition of pedantry, dumbass.

Yeah, should've used the full "jet-fuel-assisted takeoff." Meh.

Uh, that's not VTOL (vertical takeoff/landing). That's JATO (jet-assisted takeoff).

Amen, brother.

Don't you just love great movie dialogue?

"Big-Badda-Boom."
