What, are you disputing my opinion now? You’re on such poor footing you’re actually saying I’m lying about what comedians I enjoy?

What the hell are you talking about? You’re the only one bringing gender into this. I find Ricky Gervais to be crass and unfunny, and I wouldn’t hire him for this kind of gig either.
Bloody hell, I’ve now been criticised for both attacking Wolf and supporting attacks on the media based on the same comment, neither of which I’ve done. Internet, you’re really outdoing yourself today.
Also a good point - even if you don’t like her style of comedy, given her position and her targets it’s hard to see her as an in any way villainous character.
It was a personal opinion - it also isn’t *wrong* of her to be unfunny. But the two together make for an unpleasant viewing experience, to me. I wouldn’t have hired her, and if WHCA don’t like her sense of humour then they shouldn’t have. This is on them, I’ve made that quite clear.
a) Crass *and* unfunny. South Park and Rick & Morty are usually crass but funny (whereas, for example, the same cannot lately be said of Family Guy, leading the material to seem less like comedy and more like insults in lieu of an ability to tell jokes)
I personally thought her routine was crass and unfunny... but she gave precisely what they paid her for. They know what material she puts out, WHCA have no right to complain over her doing exactly what she was hired to do. If they didn’t like it, it was their mistake hiring her. They should own that.
I think Gamora could easily be dead, but that certainly won’t be the last we see of her, not while Thanos is still around. She’ll have a part to play in the concluding part of his arc.
Slight correction - it’s Cap Marvel that’s co-directed by a woman, Ant-Man and the Wasp is still directed by Peyton Reed (of the first film).
On a day. Surely that’s all you need to know for this article about an incredible event happening in one day?
It would be nice to see a headline which was ‘Here’s the list of directors’ rather than ‘Here’s the list of women’, as though that’s the most important thing about these candidates.
And I did - but if you’re doing an article about how (as per the title) a city existed ‘for just one day’, do you not think it prudent to state the actual date it happened?
Fascinating article. But you lose points for not once stating the date this all happened. Massive fail there, dude.
No-one’s commenting on the presumed Infinity War reference? Candyman refers vaguely to what’s going on in New York, so I guess this ep (along with the last three of the season, maybe?) takes place concurrently with the film, this one near the start of it? That would give us an idea of the timespan of the remaining…
I think that was just so it highlighted her first name; after all, that’s all we knew her by, and having the surname on display might have confused matters as people tried to figure out who had that last name. But they could have made it look a little less like she just had an incriminating surname :P
Interesting choice, for having only one film credit. She always turned in very good work on Hustle and Life On Mars at least, but directing films typically requires a different creative input on a fundamental level to directing television. Which is absolutely not to say it can’t be done - the Russos only had two…
When you look at something like 2005- Doctor Who, generally the ‘filler’ episodes are far more entertaining than the actual story arc episodes.
I tend to enjoy Scheer, Raphael and Mantzoukas in most scripted things... but I’ve tried listening to their podcast a few times and I find them all to be pretty unbearable. They were just so smug and mean about pretty much everything and everyone they discussed; I’d rather not spend my time listening to those sorts of…
This was one of my gripes with The Last Jedi. I loved that film, it’s pretty much my favourite SW film to date for a whole host of reasons, but it did tick me off that the alien things were all just ‘Space [Earth thing]’. Space Puffins, Space Foxes, Space Horses/Camels - Canto Bight was by far the most egregious…
I was firmly #TeamMichael, but I thought it was a great decision for the show; the only time I felt it was losing its edge somewhat was in the last few eps of S3, where it felt a touch rudderless (if it hadn’t picked up again in my eyes for s4 then I would have considered dropping it), but otherwise I’ve been firmly…
