We'd need to look at how the sale of the game is divided between the distributors, warehouses, manufacturing and programming in more depth but yes, I can see the attractiveness of selling used games.

Team Fortress's system works well enough but even I as a Valve fanboy will admit the weapon crafts are rigged to be super expensive for new weapons and it takes forever to unlock all worthwhile equipment.

In fact the reason the PS2 sold so well was because it was an affordable DVD player when such things were still newfangled.
Well I wouldn't go that far, there's still competition from Nintendo and PCs but yes, it looks like Xbox720 will be the next Dreamcast... No, that's mean to the Dreamcast. It'll be the next Atari Jaguar.

For those that still doubt this is a bad thing.
The only thing besides Exclusives that the Xbox had going for it was that it was the easiest to develop for. And now the PS4's structure is simplified they haven't got that anymore. Feels like they're gonna loose quite a few users in the gen jump.

I can't help but feel that Activision will collapse following this strategy for too long. But only after Kotick and his cronies have fled with most of the cash.
